The future is uncertain for the refugee mothers in Malaysia. While they wait to be assigned new countries to live in, they have no source of income and no real skills. They rely on their husbands and donations to cater to their families' financial needs. Now, a social enterprise is offering a way for some of them to learn a new skill and earn an income.Once a week at a little shoplot in Kota Damansara, Selangor, they are taught how to use the sewing machine and how to make soft toys like dolls and bears. The toys are cute, but not that easy to make, requiring time, patience, effort and skill. Yet the mothers persevere so that they can eventually complete the training and sew to earn an income to help provide for their families.
