Kasun Maldeni

Kasun Maldeni is a full-stack web developer with experience in ASP.NET, Ruby on Rails, Python, Node.js and React, and has worked in start-up companies and larger software firms developing, maintaining systems and liaising with clients. He co-founded a company aimed to provide hostel and inventory management services over the cloud as a SaaS solution. Kasun has experience in training junior developers in the workforce. In recognition of his exemplary service in the classroom, Kasun has been selected as a member of General Assembly's Distinguished Faculty program.

Web development basics

  • Learn what files are common in the creation of a typical website & how they interact with one another
  • See common project structures for developing applications

Intro to HTML & CSS

  • Observe syntactically correct HTML & CSS code 
  • Understand how they are leveraged for creating front-end websites

Code-along: Develop a website

  • Follow along the instructions to develop a basic website using HTML to structure your page elements & CSS for styling
