The Investment Workshop - Sharpen Your Sword and Battle UP! in collaboration with MVCA is to equip the entrepreneurs with end-to-end investment knowledge for fundraising exercises. Open to all stages of startups and Entrepreneurs, the 2-day Investment Workshop will cover the following topics;
Day 1
- Funding 101 and ecosystem
- Valuation
- Due-diligence
Day 2
- Term sheet
- Negotiation
- Path ahead, Series A & beyond
There will also be a separate session for startup-VC matching on the second half of the workshop (2 - 4.30pm on both days, 15 minutes for each startup). A selection process will be conducted by the VCs and ONLY selected startups will be invited to attend the matching session and meet with potential VCs. The selected startups will receive a new Zoom link and time slot for the matching session.
Those who are not selected for the matching session will still be able to attend the workshop. A Zoom link for the workshop will be automatically sent after registration.
Note: This application form will require you to share a pitch deck for the matching session selection process purposes. If you are not interested in the matching session or do not intend to share a pitch deck, you can still join the workshop via MaGIC Facebook Live.

Ryu serves as Partner at Spiral Ventures, a Japanese venture capital firm with its HQ in Singapore and investing in the early stage digital tech startups in SEA region and India. Ryu is in charge of deal sourcing and growth of over 25 portfolio companies across Southeast Asian countries.
Zhen Hui is an Associate Director at Captii Ventures with 10 years of experience in financial advisory and venture capital.
As an ex-M&A lawyer, Mic Tham is a VC at kipleX, an early-stage VC fund and startup studio based in Kuala Lumpur. She is also the founder of Homeground, a management consulting and deal advisory firm with SEA tech business focus.
Jimmy has spent his professional years with RHB Investment Bank Bhd undertaking various corporate finance exercises and more recently, as the Senior Vice President of OSK Ventures International Bhd. In his current role at OSK, Jimmy works closely with startup founders and stakeholders in coordinating and providing support for both venture growth as well as fundraising.
Rachel Trang Khuat is Investment Analyst of KK Fund, a venture capital fund investing in seed stage internet and mobile startups across South East Asia. Rachel is responsible for deal sourcing and investment process in which she helps startups speed up their pace. Before joining KK Fund, Rachel has six years of experience in communication and business development in Vietnam and Thailand.
Eunice is an Investment Associate at Monk’s Hill Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage tech companies, primarily Series A, in Southeast Asia. She is based in Singapore and is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and investment analysis and research. Eunice brings over eight years of experience in technology, law and real estate as a former startup founder and a lawyer. Prior to joining MHV, Eunice was a lawyer at international law firm Mayer Brown advising multinational companies on intellectual property and technology matters, including data privacy and cybersecurity. She co-founded and exited two startups in the proptech and e-commerce spaces, Quikspaces and Munchbox respectively. She is also a licensed real estate agent in Hong Kong. Eunice holds dual degrees in Business Administration and Law from the University of Hong Kong.
Aaron is a Senior Investment Associate at Monk’s Hill Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage tech companies, primarily Series A, in Southeast Asia. He is based in Jakarta and is responsible for deal sourcing, due diligence and investment analysis and research. Aaron brings with him over 9 years of experience in technology, fundraising, business intelligence and business development as a former startup founder and management consultant. Prior to joining MHV, Aaron was the Accelerator Director for GK-Plug and Play Indonesia, handling the accelerator program and investments for the joint venture between Plug and Play Tech Center from Silicon Valley and Gan Konsulindo from Indonesia. Before that, he co-founded Setipe.com and successfully led their acquisition by Lunch Actually Group in 2017. Aaron holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California.
