In light of the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) and MaGIC’s recent survey having conclusive data that only 2.9% of start-ups are confident in surviving through MCO -  MaGIC will be bringing you its Webinar series, a platform for online live sessions with industry experts and entrepreneurs to shed light on the various ways to strategise and thrive in a time of crisis, such as the one brought about by the COVID-19.

David Chen

David Chen is Co-Founder and COO of Golden Sunland, the first integrated value-chain rice company registered in Singapore, operating in Myanmar. We are also the 4th BCorp certified company in the world. The company steward the entire value chain from seed research to the branding and distribution of the end product. Our current rice production system is unsustainable from all angles. Rice is a major greenhouse gas emitter, 144 million smallholder rice farmers are living in poverty, and the staple we consume has recently been attributed as one of the causes of health issues such as diabetes. David and the team's vision is to fix this generational problem through the use of technology and most importantly, a holistic approach where culture and environment are respected, where purpose and profit co-exist.
