Where do I start?
Syafiq is the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Drone IoT Technologies and currently leading Asia Drone to spearhead talent development in drone technology in Malaysia. Together with his team, Asia Drone has completed over 35 training programmes with government agencies, corporates and the general public, catering to a diverse group of people from different backgrounds. He is one of the executive committee members of the Malaysia Internet-of-Things Association (MyIoTA) and is involved in multiple initiatives such as Malaysia Drone Taskforce, 5G National Taskforce, Bengkel Rancangan Malaysia ke-12 and Primary Syndication Workshop for National Tech Talent Development Policy.
Izham holds an MBA from GSM Universiti Putra Malaysia and an engineering degree from Unimas, Sarawak. He has over 20 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, specialising in engineering, manufacturing and R&D. Currently, he is part of the Business Development team in Aerodyn, continuing his passion for talent building through industry and government collaboration while playing a part in the agriculture digital transformation. As a passionate talent development manager, Izham used his technical knowledge in bridging skills gaps through the design and implementation of various initiatives such as the deployment of the Expert Craftsmen Program (2016), the Youth Enhancement Strategy (YES) Selangor (2015 – 2017), MACPMA-HRDF 1MGrip initiatives (2015), the conception and deployment of Selangor’s SMART Technical Workforce (2017) as well as rolling out the Inisiatif Kemahiran Teknikal dan Ikhtisas Smart Selangor - IKTISASS (2018). On a national level, Izham was primarily involved in the feasibility study, deployment and launching of the Malaysian Meister Programme (2013 – 2015) together with the Federation of Malaysian Skills Development Centres (FMSDC) as well as working with TalentCorp Malaysia on the internship for High Impact Talent (i-HIT) deployed in institutions of higher learning from 2015 to 2017.
How Yong Guan is the CTO and co-founder of Poladrone, a drone company in Malaysia that aims to solve industrial problems by using drone technologies and improving efficiencies at scale to create a sustainable future. He specialises in applying his expertise in drone flight operation and data processing in different industries. Currently, he is leading the tech-team for Poladrone’s UAV hardware and software research and development.
