Launch of the UNDP Youth Co:Lab SDG Challenge

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Malaysia Country Office and Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) invites you to attend the launch of the UNDP Youth Co:Lab Malaysia on 15th August 2018, Wednesday from 9.30 a.m to 4.00 p.m at MaGIC Cyberjaya.Youth Co:Lab, UNDP’s Asia-Pacific youth entrepreneurship initiative, is positioning young people front and center in order to solve the region’s most pressing challenges. MaGIC and UNDP are in collaboration to instigate, catalyse, and sustain youth innovation by supporting the region’s youth-led startups and social enterprises through Youth Co:Lab Malaysia.Youth Co:Lab Malaysia will be executed in four locations across Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Sabah) from September to November 2018 and is envisioned to connect young innovators with subject matter experts, leaders and businesses in order to develop their ideas and business models for social impact in their communities.With UNDP’s commitment to leave no one behind, ensuring sustainability, and upholding human rights, the themes for the Youth Co:Lab Malaysia are centred around three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are designed to explore viable solutions for the following issues: Income Generation for Undocumented Persons Energy Efficiency and Environmental Sustainability Financial InclusionThe three (3) themes were selected due to their interconnected impact on the marginalised communities in Malaysia. We believe the youth in Malaysia can play a vital role in achieving the nation’s economic development in line with the SDGs.Application for participation will be opened during the launch on 15 August 2018 for the three (3) themes respectively for Youth Co:Lab Cyberjaya, Johor, Penang and Sabah. Every participant gets to choose to work on one (1) theme at one location.
