The term 'Design' in Design Thinking (DT) creates the assumption that it is the exclusive domain for designer only but in fact, intuitively, all great innovators in literature, art, music, science, engineering, and business have used it in one way or another.DT takes inspiration from designers work processes. The processes help us to systematically extract, teach, learn and apply human-centered techniques to solve problems in creative and innovative ways. This process allows us to use it universally, in all our designs for solutions for social, business, communities and even in our lives.World leading brands, such as Apple, Google, and Samsung have adopted DT into their work processes; especially in innovating their products and services to meet the market's changing demands. It is an iterative empathy-based process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge existing assumptions, and redefine problems towards creating alternative strategies and solutions. What Will You Learn?Join this DT 201 two-days workshop that walks you through the Design Thinking concepts, tools, frameworks, and methodologies. The course aims to ensure the application competency of Design Thinking, expose participants to the many uses of Design Thinking process and help in understanding the real potential of Design Thinking.Participants will be able to test design thinking process, understand how it works and build confidence when utilising design thinking to create the 1st level prototype. 5W & 1H of Design ThinkingParticipants will have a basic understanding of the distinctions to what is DT, who can apply DT, the filed of applications, etc. The Design Thinker MindParticipants will embody the mindset of a Design Thinker and have a full appreciation by how DT increase the value of their product and services. 3 Phases in Design Thinking ProcessParticipants will understand and appreciate the design thinking process and how to conduct each of the phases.
